Under the Hood
Just finished opening and old Dell with pentium 4 and running XP. While this is unremarkable what is cool is that I did it with grandpa. He let me know he had a couple of computers out in the garage. This of course to my complete surprise, everyone knows you keep computers in the basement. So we headed out to see if they are any good.
He got these machines from a woman he does odd jobs for, and she also had them aging in the garage. The dell was really dusty and the other machine (running windows ME) wasn’t as bad, but wouldn’t turn on.
So I got to work opening the case and getting some of that dust out. Kind of like working on a car but we’re at the kitchen table and I’m the one who knows what is going on. Fun experience. When we fired up the dell all I could think was, “Please no porn.”
Now we are sitting around waiting for the Caves to come on.
