This weekend landed me in DC for my first podcamp of 08. I was excited to go and I wanted to fill an empty speaking slot so I did. I talked on Branding Your Podcast. I thought the presentation was very thoughtful and broke things down well for a potentially complicated information exchange. My only mistake was that I over estimated how many people would actually be ready to talk stregic branding. Most people were just getting started or hadn’t created a podcast yet. I did plan to be flexibe and answering questions mid stride wasn’t an issue. The conversation did take an unnecessary ”what the heck is twitter” turn at the end, but hopefully I grabbed a few new followers as well as stromhuelsman listeners.
The after party was more tame than I’m used to but thats ok because I needed to catch a train before midnight. I did get to spend some time talking ninja marketing, mind control and just ninja with Chris Penn. Good times. A lot of people in DC warming up for PodCamp NYC this coming weekend. I wish I could make it.

One final note. In a shameless croncast promotion here is me telling everyone in my session to give it a listen. They are a really good example of podcast branding at the moment because they are about to relaunch or repackage the show.Â
If you want more photos and recaps the suggested tag is PodCamp DC. Here is a link the the flicker search results.Â

Norm, you rock like nobody’s business! You’ve now given me a great idea. Will share with you soon. Must go covert for now. Thanks for the plug as 500 and our rebranding begins.
Norm,
Great blog post. I also spoke at Podcamp DC and had the same issue. Had planned to talk with people who I figured were advanced in the whole podcasting new media space – but instead had a ton of folks who were new. And it also seems that EVERY session that day we ended up talking about Twitter one way or another.
I guess Twitter is hitting its tipping point in the mainstream? Not sure but it is close.
