PodCamp Boston Sunday

I skipped the first hour this morning and attended a really thoughtful session on social media for business. Walked away thinking about why web shows should be created with a target audience/ advertiser in mind from the beginning. Also the need to standardize how we are defining what we are doing online.

I floated around after and went to lunch with Michael Baily, Jia Ji and Scott McDougall. Good times poking fun around the campfire especially when a cardboard cut-out of John Kerry arrive.

Aaron (above) and I were frequenting the Seaport Bar and Grill all weekend watching the Red Sox and sampling the local spirits. He was in constant need of my power supply because he left his at home with his blackberry charger. On Saturday he installed Leopard and it was great to see it for the first time.

One of the best sessions for me was Jeff Pulvers talk on entrepreneurship. He basically just told his story but it really is an inspirational one.

The other big podcamp news is that podcamps are now able to charge admission fees. This came about because of the very high no show rate at Boston this year, as well as a host of other issues that go along with conferences and covering basic costs.

Thanks to Chris Brogran and Christopher Penn for organizing this year and creating such a great event. I had an excellent time and I met a whole host of great new people. See you all around the internet.
