Today I was informed that The Art Institutes are eliminating all Public Relations departments across the system. This means that my Job at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh will be eliminated February 1, 2011.
I’m currently looking to take the next step in my career and find a new job. Currently I am absorbing the news and trying to evaluate my options. If you are aware of a position in graphic design, social media, or marketing please feel free to drop me a line.

I will keep you posted as this situation develops. Thanks.
Sorry to hear that, sir. 🙁
Sorry to hear about the news. I have been there.
I bet you will land on your feet in no time.

My first thought is, “Well, that sucks.” However, you do have tons of connections through PodCamp I am sure and in Pittsburgh it’s who you know. It was ‘nice’ of them to let you know a ways ahead of time though.
God grant you peace during this time of change.
So sorry. Hope you find something even more fantastic!
I am so sorry to read this, Norm. It’s somewhat consoling that they gave you notice and didn’t eliminate you immediately. It seems more and more that organizations are eliminating departments that I feel are crucial to their overall growth, that such as PR, the very front door of the organization.
Keep us posted on where you might like to head and I believe that we’ll all keep our ears open. You have my best wishes, too.
That sucks dude but like others have said, at least you have sometime to plan before your out of a job.
Just trying to find something good in the situation. How is Rex taking the news…. did you tell him yet?
