What’s an RSS Feed?
In the fall, post PodCamp Pittsburgh, I was feeling the urge to give back to The Art Institute and teach my coworkers about RSS, web 2.0, and Google Tools. My goal was get everyone familiar with a web page and teach them how to take advantage of RSS.
Here are my slides, I called the talk “The Modern Web.”
Modern Web
This is a Big Topic
What I learned is that this topic, especially for people who only use the internet for Facebook and email, are overwhelmed quite easily. I spoke about RSS and what it is but I think I lost everyone when I got to Google tools.
So my question is where to narrow it down. I feel the time is right for a follow up talk and I think that I could give almost the same presentation and people would relearn what we covered a few months ago. I think that my solution would be to focus on showing many examples of how to use the web. Go to a site click the RSS icon, go read all the posts in reader, repeat.
Any thoughts?
