The Perfect Breakfast

Let’s start by saying the perfect breakfast doesn’t only involve the food. Once again I’m at the sandwich shop in Bloomfield. As far as I know they don’t have a website, no Twitter, and probably have never taken an ad in any paper. The healthy stream of steady customers keeps this place lively as well as “mom” whose command of the grill could humble the best of kitchen masters. Another unique flavor is the never ending rotation of servers and busers. Not to mention the hyper local friendliness you only get at little shops like this.

For example right now I’m sitting next to Rick, and older guy who upon retiring from the rest room sat on the wrong side of the bar. His food and coffee waiting for him next to me. The funny banter and joking that followed was delightful.

Why the perfect breakfast today? Many unexplainable forces coming together to let you know this is that moment.

I’m also going to go on record as saying the sandwich shop is superior to ritters. PGH blasphemy I know. Honestly the food and service are just better here.
