Challenges for G-20.org Site Launched

challengesforg20head

Over the course of the past few days we’ve slow rolled the launch of the ChallegesForG20.org website. Thanks to one of AiP’s web students, Thomas Drenning, we got this whole site up fast. So while we are still smoothing out some of the details let me take a moment to explain the project and the need for the site in the first place.

Challenges for G-20 is a debateish round table discussion that invites the Pittsburgh community to sit in on discussions related to the upcoming G-20 summit. If you have been following along with the G-20 news you know that Pittsburghers in general are going to be shut out of the summit. Either because of logistics – traffic, work, protestors, etc or the fact that you are not a delegate invited to the convention center, Pittsburghers just won’t be there. The Challeges for G-20 fourm was created as a somewhat community service project to give the common man a chance to learn and participate.

Tickets are cheap and if you are a student the event is free. If you really really want to go and can’t cough up the $10 let me know and I’ll see what I can do. The organizers have worked really hard to pull this together and there really is zero monetary gain out of the event.

In a follow up post I’ll share the back story of the organizers of this event. There are a lot of local heroes involved. Including the Flag Foundation who is another one of Pittsburgh’s Best Kept Secrets.
