Aaron Copland Day

I may have mentioned this somewhere before but I recently picked up a copy of Aaron Copland’s The Populist. Preformed by the San Francisco Symphony conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas. If you are in the mood for something relaxing yet invigorating I suggest giving it a listen. I prefer putting it on in the morning before cracking down on the day’s to do.

This release features the Rodeo set – or the theme used in the beef commercials a few years ago. That set is fun but Appalachian Spring is a better piece, to be compared with A Theme for the Common Man (not on this release). Anyway check it out.
