Boxing Recap

So Stalone didn’t make an appearance, looks like John was right about that. 

Basically this was a youth boxing event. So all the hype was for naught. Brian and Jess did join me on Saturday night where we enjoyed $2 Irons. I didn’t feel bad about misinterpreting the event because all the money raised goes right back to the kids. All the winners are going on to Philly to fight for state honors, before moving onto the Nationals. So all the kids need funds to travel. 

I talked to one of the gym trainers, as he had two kids from his gym fighting each other. He said he had assistant trainers ringside because he can’t choose sides. The whole event felt like a H.S. wrestling event, with beer. 

I did get the scoop on the real deal boxing event. Last year it was called the showcase. This year it is called 2nd Annual Christmas Boxing Event in Bloomfield-PGH’s Little Italy. The date is December 20th at 1pm. So clear your calendar now. I’m trying to find the website with info but the site they gave out doesn’t seem to be up yet. I’ll keep you posted. 

I did happen to see @burghseyeview’s daughter at the event. However I didn’t know it at the time, she was one of the ring girls.

   I’m a bit late on this post, but Dani (my daughter) got to train with Spaddy (Spadafora aka The Pittsburgh Kid) the other night, she was ecstatic!
