Over the River

Sometimes working downtown can suck. I have to deal with traffic the homeless, pigeons, but sometimes it pays off. For me, walking across downtown isn’t a big deal nor is crossing a river so times like right now are great when I can take five or twentyfive and grab a quick cigar in Station Square. This isn’t a regular thing for me (I think the last time I lit one up was on my birthday) but it’s the little things that can make or break us.

Recently I’ve been focused on the school’s new viewbook. It has really been an uphill endevour this year as my department is busier than ever and our timetable is the shortest I’ve ever worked in on this job. We are also making a few significant changes to the way we will visually communicate. Everyone is a little concerned at this but I think it will work out in the end. My job is to make sure it all comes togeter quickly and coherently. Once we get the main publication completed the course is much simpler.

So I guess this is why God gave us things like cigars and good booze. To help us relax and celebrate when the work is done.
