Today Art Commission and Olympus

Today I’ll be juggling a few projects and events, most importantly the Pittsburgh Art Commission. I’m presenting a project in relation to Pittsburgh 250 anniversary and Imagine Pittsburgh events. We’ll be rededicating the Boulevard of the Allies in June by placing banner of each of the allies down the boulevard and American flags going up the ramp. This simple little project has quickly turned into a large celebration of veterans and Pittsburgh complete with an air-force fly over. So that is why I’m going before the art commission, to get this project approved. You wouldn’t believe how complicated it is to put some flags on light posts.

Next and back to back with the art commission (hopefully I can get there in time) is CMU’s Olympus Presentation 5. I don’t even know who is presenting but Apple is hosting the after party. Should be a good time.

In-between all that I’m putting the final details together for this weekend’s Comicon at the Monroeville Expo Mart. Three whole days of letting your inner nerd run wild. AiP will be running a booth and selling some raffle tickets n’at.

UPDATE

So our contact at the art commission almost ripped our throats out for not getting our info to them in time. Apparently the day before the meeting starts isn’t far enough in advance for the art commission of pittsburgh. Anyway they let us speak and after taking about an hour for every other presentation they approved our project in about 15 minutes. So good news is that the Boulevard Rededication project is full speed underway. I just have to make the formal invitation and meet for a few more hours on friday…

See yinz at the Comicon.
