PodCamp DC
This just in (as of yesterday). I’m going to PodCamp DC and giving a session on branding your podcast.Â
I’ve been debating about what to do this month with two PodCamps back to back. There is no way I can make it to NYC due to work obligations but this weekend only had one conflict. So I opted to skip out on the Shadowmoor Prerelease events and drive to Washington. For those of you who have been following my casual magic blog, you know I’m really pumped about the prerelease.Â
Anyway I’m staying with a friends family and getting there late Friday. I’m the first speaker at 10 am under the podcasting track. So if you are in the area please drop by and say hello. I’m looking forward to reconnecting with those of you I met at podcamps in 07 as well as new faces.Â
Other podcamp new just announced. PodCamp Boston is charging registration this year. Christopher Penn outlines the thinking here. I have to say I wish that all podcamps would remain free, but I fully understand their dilemma. Hopefully more podcamps around the country will develop to keep the numbers down and the communities strong. Follow this link if you want to register for PodCamp Boston 3.
How do you feel about charging for podcamp registration?

I’m thinking a minimal charge isn’t a bad idea. It puts some stock in being sure that if you register you’d show up. A couple of church events have done that, $5-$10 ish and it seems like more were able to show up.

I have no problem with them charging. Will it work? Guess we’ll find out!
