Two Events

Last night was Blogfest 12 a fun event where Pittsburgh bloggers can get together and talk shop. What really happened was old school bloggers and podcampers came together. It was great because there were a lot of podcasters in the room as well as other new media types. One exciting highlight was Andrew Stockey from WTAE showed up with a camera and did a few interviews. The news is airing tonight at 5 pm. Above is Andrew interviewing Cindy.

The next stop last night was devhouse. An event dedicated to developers with speakers and alcohol. The only major drawback was the misrepresentation of the event on the website. Basically devhouse was billed as a creative event for developers and artists who could come together and collaborate on ideas for one crazy night of development. There wasn’t any of that as far as I could tell. Maybe the original devhouse was more of that nature. It would have been better to list the event for what it was. Anyway the idea of devhouse is pretty cool and I hope to meet with the organizers to learn more about their vision of the event. Hopefully they can realize their goal of a truly creative event. Maybe they could come to the next PodCamp.

   I love how in your photo, you can see the WTAE camera man shooting video, plus Rob of UnSpace (I think that’s Rob) taking pictures of the video shoot, plus Jia watching the whole thing. Very meta.
